Rebecca Leivers :: Other Hands

Three original songs, recorded live in Nottingham: Rebecca Leivers begins her solo journey with the brief format of an acoustic session.

Known also for her work with The Owl Service, Rebecca Leivers releases Other Hands as the group prepares for the release of Tied to the Land. The proximity of the two releases allows us to observe two aspects of her work: the interpretation of a shared repertoire and the development of her own songwriting. This EP gathers three original compositions, acoustic demos with gothic influences.

“Other Hands”, “Flame” and “Bread” run to just over ten minutes in total. They were recorded live at The Grove, Nottingham, with mixing and mastering by Matt Wilson.

In these songs for voice and guitar, a contemplative Patti Smith emerges amid rural folk music from distant traditions: the darkness arises from the storytelling, the harmonic tensions, the relationship between words and accompaniment.

Other Hands makes an initial body of material available before the co-production work announced for her full-length debut. Its brevity offers an appropriate scale for examining each song without asking three tracks to represent an entire poetics.

Released on 13 October 2026 digitally and in a limited CD edition, the EP thus constitutes the first document of Leivers’s solo journey.
