It is an independent magazine for anyone curious about what a record or a film carries beyond its surface. A voice recorded in a room, an olive grove changed by disease, a village remembered through the work once done there: small details can open onto larger histories.

Here you will find album and film reviews, essays, interviews and Hwael Field listening sequences. The writing moves through folk, ambient, pop and experimental music, cinema, television and everyday life. Some pieces begin with a new release; others return to an older image or follow a question through songs, maps and archives.

An open space where texts, images and listenings accumulate without a definitive form.

Hwael Mag was founded by Antonio Martellotta, who writes and edits the magazine. Articles are published under the Hwael Mag name.
